Tonight's rare black moon:  energizing or the end of the world?

The Los Angeles Times writes, "Sept. 30 marks the emergence of the “black moon” — when a second new moon rises in one month. Like all new moons, you cannot see it with the naked eye, because the side of the moon that’s lit by the sun is facing away from Earth. A black moon is not in any way different from a regular new moon, except for the fact that it occurs in the same month of the calendar as a previous one. The last new moon rose on Sept. 1. The black moon will rise about 5 p.m. this Friday, the last day of the month."

Apparently, the black new moon is connected to many Goddesses, and it is particularly linked to the hypnotic and magnificent Goddess Lilith. Lilith is associated with sexual energy, creativity, rebellion, and feminine power. She is a symbol of divine matriarchal energy that refuses to be dominated or controlled, writes The Elephant Journal.

Sweet.

I like that a lot better than a black moon's appearance marking the beggining of The End.  Or, David Wolfe writes,"Expect Your Gender Identity To Shift.
 Wha???
Any hoo, I think moons are pretty cool.  I prefer a crescent moon instead of a fleur de lis when wearing my love of New Orleans. I like that it's grittier than the fleur.  Darker and more magical, not to mention when made in 22k yellow gold, a moon looks pretty darn good.
Like the coffee mug with "If Britney Spears Can Survive 2007, You Can Handle Today" written on it, I think we'll all be ok.

I'll see y'all at yoga tomorrow morning.
