| Making ceramic beaded necklaces for her mom as a pre-schooler, San Francisco jewelry artist Melissa Joy Manning found her creative voice early on. Her later studies of traditional Mexican silver-smithing and European design principles are apparent in the hammered textures and unconventional use of negative spaces in her jewelry. Hardened through the hand working process of forming the circles, this jewelry is surprisingly lightweight and strong. The playful chain links balanced with vibrant gemstones present a sophistication that is both sexy and fun. |
